We are continuing to have a wonderful Trinity season deepening our knowledge of God. Sunday's sermon focused on the Parable of the Sower, which you can read in Matthew's Gospel, chapter 13. It's a big question: are our hearts devoted and committed to the work of God?
Is your heart a hard heart, like the bad soil?
Is your heart shallow, like the rocky soil?
Is your heart divided, like the thorny soil?
Or is your heart like the good soil, that represents a fruitful heart? A fruitful heart will be loving, obedient, forgiving, abiding in truth and filled with the spirit (see Ephesians 4: 22-32). We pray that we will all strive for a fruitful heart this summer.
Don't forget the BBQ after church on Sunday (23rd). All welcome!
This week Rev. Eliakim concluded an important two-part series on the importance of our trust and loyalty to God. We heard the story of Abraham, willing to sacrifice even his beloved son Isaac for the Lord. But God saved Isaac - it was just an amazing demonstration of Abraham and Isaac's faith in the Lord. Can we also put our trust in God in everything we do?
Wednesday 7pm prayer and Bible Study - all welcome! We will be continuing to look at the encouragement and challenge of Paul's letter to the Galatian Christians.
And don't forget our church BBQ is coming up after the service on Sunday 23rd July.
